Privacy

Your focus stays yours.

This Privacy Policy explains how Noot, made by Codeful, handles your information. The short version: Noot has no account, runs no server that stores your data, and uses no analytics or ad trackers. By using Noot you agree to this policy. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@vibeland.app before continuing to use the app.

1. The short version

Noot is local-first and account-free. Everything the app keeps about you — your focus state, your bond progress (which cats you’ve met), your pinned cat, and your settings — is stored on your device. If you’re signed into iCloud, a small set of that data syncs through your own private iCloud account so it reaches your other devices.

  • We have no account and no sign-up — no email, no password, no social login.
  • We run no backend server that stores your data. Codeful cannot see your focus history or progress.
  • We use no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad SDKs, and no trackers.
  • We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

2. No account, no sign-up

You don’t create an account to use Noot. There is no email address, no password, and no social login. You open the app and start using it. Because there is no account, there is no profile for us to hold, and no credentials for us to store or lose.

3. What data exists, and where it lives

The only meaningful data in Noot is what the app records as you use it. It is stored on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (UserDefaults).

DataWhere it lives
Focus state (whether a session is running, and its progress)On your device
Bond progress — the cats you’ve met — and your pinned catOn your device; in your private iCloud if sync is on
App settings & preferences (e.g. language, theme)On your device; in your private iCloud if sync is on
Purchase / entitlement state (Noot+)Managed by Apple StoreKit — see §7

What we do not collect: we do not collect your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or health data. We do not assign you an advertising identifier, and we do not perform cross-app tracking. We do not have, and never receive, your name, email, or any personal information.

4. iCloud sync

iCloud sync is optional. If you are signed into iCloud, Noot syncs a small set of key-value data — your bond progress, your pinned cat, and your preferences — through Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store. This is your iCloud — the same place your other personal data lives. It exists so your progress and settings stay in sync across your devices.

  • The synced data lives in your iCloud account, not on Codeful’s servers.
  • iCloud sync is handled by Apple, under Apple’s privacy terms. Codeful never sees, receives, or has access to this data. We have no server that receives or stores it.
  • Noot works fully without iCloud. If you don’t want to sync, you can turn off iCloud for Noot in iOS Settings, and your data stays only on the device.

5. Animated images (a third-party image CDN)

Noot’s animated companions — the meme images and the cats — are loaded at runtime from a third-party GIF content-delivery network, Klipy (static.klipy.com). Loading one of these images makes a standard network request to that CDN.

  • Like any web request, this exposes your device’s IP address and user-agent to the CDN. That is inherent to fetching an image over the internet.
  • No personal data, account, or identifier is attached to these requests. We don’t send your progress, settings, or any profile — there is none.
  • The CDN’s handling of those requests is governed by its own operator. This is the only outbound network behavior in the app.

The lofi audio that plays during focus is bundled inside the app and requires no network connection.

6. Analytics, advertising & tracking

Noot contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. There is no Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, Firebase, Crashlytics, Facebook, Google, or any other tracking library. We do not sell or share your data, and we work with no data brokers.

The only aggregate statistics we can ever see are Apple’s own App Store Connect / App Analytics — anonymous, app-level numbers (like downloads or crash counts) that Apple provides to every developer. These never include your activity in the app and never identify you. You can opt out of sharing this analytics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

7. Purchases

Noot+ is handled entirely by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. We never see your payment method or card details — Apple processes all payments. We receive only Apple’s standard, anonymous purchase / entitlement status (whether Noot+ is active), never any payment information. Apple handles billing, renewals, the free trial, and entitlement state.

  • Refunds are issued by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.
  • Restore — “Restore Purchases” in the app brings back any Noot+ entitlement attached to your Apple ID. Family Sharing is supported.

8. Children

Noot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. Because there is no account and no personal data is collected at all, there is no profile of any user — child or adult — for us to hold. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us at support@vibeland.app.

9. Your data & deletion

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in control of it at all times:

  • Delete everything — deleting the Noot app from your device, and turning off iCloud sync, removes the data.
  • Manage the iCloud copy — you control it from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage, where you can review and delete Noot’s iCloud data.

Codeful holds no separate copy of your data to delete, because we never received one. If you have EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), or Korean (PIPA) data-protection questions, write to us — but in practice, the controls above put deletion entirely in your hands.

10. Security

Your data is protected by your device’s encryption and, when synced, by Apple’s iCloud security in your private key-value store (encrypted in transit and at rest). Because we run no server that stores your data, there is no central database of user content to breach. No system is perfect — if you have a concern, please contact us.

11. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except where the data-protection laws of your country grant you additional, non-waivable rights (in which case those apply).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date, and surfaced in the app where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
