The fine print, kept short.

1. What Noot is

Noot is a calm, playful iOS focus app. You start a focus session, lofi audio plays, and cozy animated companions keep you company while you work. As you keep focusing, you bond with new cats and build a collection of the cats you’ve met.

Noot is a tool to help you focus — not a guarantee of productivity. It is deliberately gentle and free of pressure.

2. License & Apple’s standard EULA

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Noot on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. Your use of Noot is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple’s standard EULA). Where these terms and Apple’s standard EULA conflict, Apple’s standard EULA governs for the matters it covers.

3. Using the app

• There is no account and no sign-up. You don’t register; you just open the app and use it.
• You need a compatible device — an iPhone running a supported version of iOS. Noot can sync a small set of preferences and bond progress via iCloud if you’re signed in.
• You are responsible for your own device, your iCloud account, and keeping your operating system up to date.

4. Your content & data

• Your focus state, bond progress, and settings are yours. They are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account.
• We claim no license to your data. We do not use it for marketing, for training AI models, or for any other purpose. We never see it.
• You are responsible for your own data. Because Noot is local-first and we keep no server copy, we cannot recover your data if you delete the app and have iCloud sync turned off. See the Privacy Policy for the full data architecture, including the third-party image CDN used to load the animated companions.

5. Noot+ (premium cats)

Noot is free to use, and the free app is fully usable. Noot+ is an optional upgrade that unlocks premium cats — additional companions to meet and bond with. Buying Noot+ also helps support an indie developer.

6. Subscriptions, renewals & refunds

Noot+ is offered via Apple StoreKit. We do not see your payment method; payment is charged to your Apple ID, and Apple handles billing, renewals, the free trial, and refunds.

• Plans & pricing. Noot+ is available as Monthly $2.99, Yearly $19.99 (with a free trial), or a one-time Lifetime $29.99. The Lifetime option is a non-consumable purchase, not a subscription — it grants Noot+ permanently for your Apple ID and does not auto-renew. Prices are shown in your local currency.
• Auto-renewal. The Monthly and Yearly plans are auto-renewable subscriptions. A subscription automatically renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you selected.
• Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings (iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep access until then, with no partial refund for unused time.
• Free trial. The Yearly plan may include a free trial. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to that plan.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their policy: reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.
• Restore & Family Sharing. “Restore Purchases” brings back any prior entitlement attached to your Apple ID. Family Sharing is enabled.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app or the StoreKit configuration.
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
• Interfere with or attempt to disrupt the app’s normal operation, or circumvent purchase/entitlement checks.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app or its assets.

8. Disclaimers & liability

Noot is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep it stable and calm, but we make no promises about:

• iCloud sync availability or speed. Sync depends on Apple’s infrastructure and your connectivity.
• Availability of the animated companions. The animated images load from a third-party CDN and depend on that service and your connectivity.
• Productivity outcomes. Noot is a tool, not a guarantee. We do not promise that you will focus longer, feel less distracted, or change any habit.
• Backup. Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud; we keep no separate backup we can restore from.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Codeful is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you have paid for Noot+ in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Termination

You can stop using Noot and delete it at any time. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; you can also remove the iCloud copy from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. Because there is no account, there is nothing for us to close on our side.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be heard in the competent courts of Korea, except where consumer-protection laws of your country require otherwise (in which case those local laws and courts apply for the parts of the dispute they cover).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date and surfaced in the app where appropriate. Continued use of Noot after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
